THE GAMING COMPANY ANNOUNCES FTX GALAXIE CUP, A PROFESSIONAL AXIE INFINITY TOURNAMENT
KUALA LUMPUR, 20 October 2021 –
The Gaming Company (TGC) has partnered with Hooga Hooga Gaming, Lorcan Gaming, Putra Gaming and FTX, a global cryptocurrency exchange, to introduce our first ever Axie Infinity Tournament; FTX GalAxie Cup. Registrations will open beginning 25 October until 14 November 2021 to gamers globally.
Axie Infinity is a turn-based strategy game where players collect creatures known as Axies to battle one another in an arena. The game uses Ethereum-based cryptocurrency, AXS and Smooth Love Potion (SLP) as in-game currency which can be converted into real money.
The FTX GalAxie Cup will kick-off with its Influencer Tournament on 27 November 2021, followed by its Pro Tournament the following day. While the Influencer Tournament is only open to selected Guilds and its nominated representative, the Pro Tournament is open to the public – participants are required to register as a team of three, and its members’ individual MMR will be recorded and averaged out as the team’s MMR.
Eight teams with the highest MMR will be eligible to participate in the event. Each team will be provided with Axies that will be used throughout the tournament. While the Axies provided will be identical in terms of type, cards, and stats, the Axies’ number given will vary to give players a range of differences that may prove to be advantageous. As such, a Ban/Pick Phase will be held, and all information on the Axies will be provided prior to the match day on FTX GalAxie Cup’s official website at www.galaxiecup.com.
Our creative format in FTX Galaxie Cup is set to be the stepping stone of play-to-earn games in the professional esport scene”, added Khai Chun of Hooga Hooga Gaming. FTX GalAxie Cup will open for registration globally on 25 October until 14 November 2021 at http://www.galaxiecup.com, and streamed live via TGC’s Official Twitch Page, so grab your teammates and join in on the fun!
